Volunteers of the “Team Clean City”, a leading voluntary organisation of South Odisha, once again undertook a drive to remove all posters pasted on walls of public properties in the city on Sunday.
The main objective of the drive was to keep the buildings clean and to give them an aesthetic look.
Many denizens now hope that the noble initiatives taken by the team would bring Brahmapur city among 100 best cleanest cities in the country. The team’s initiatives for improving the quality of life in the silk city are being highly appreciated by public in social networking platforms. In the first phase, the team had focused its attention on cleaning of statues of eminent personalities, including Sashi Bhushan Rath, at different locations of the city. Now, all statutes are shining.
Meanwhile, the BeMC has started drawing murals on the walls of both Government and private institutional buildings on roadsides, which give an aesthetic look to the city.
After removal of posters from the walls by the Team Clean, the BeMC is drawing pictures of rich and varied cultural posterity of the district.
However, some businessmen are repeatedly pasting promotional posters of the business on the cleaned and painted walls. On Sunday, the team restarted its cleaning drive for 4 km from the MKCG Medical College Hospital gate up to the Old Bus Stand.
The denizens have appreciated the social work initiated by the team. Meanwhile, members of the “Lovely Group”, another social organisation, voluntarily joined Team Clean in the noble work.
“The cleaning drive will be a continuous task. The team has provided a helping hand to many indigents, helpless and homeless during the Covid pandemic,” said Team Clean founding member Shaktidhar Rajguru.
