The State Government’s health scheme Bju Swathya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) is better than the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat in all respects.
This was stated by State Health Minister Pratap Jena on the sideline of a meeting held here on Thursday the occasion of a function of weekly newspaper ‘Orissa Jana Morcha’. Jena said that under the Pradhan Mantri Jana Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), the Ashman Bharat scheme would have benefited 60 lakh people of Odisha, but the BSKY would benefit 70 lakh people.
For the PMJAY, the State had to bear 40 per cent of the expenditure. While both Central and State schemes cover medical expenses up to Rs 5 lakh, under the BSKY a woman would get a cover up to Rs 7 lakh against centre’s flat Rs 5 lakh for everyone, said Jena.
“The PMJAY bears the expenses after admission into an empanelled hospital, but a person covered under the BSKY would get the benefit from outdoor treatment itself till discharged,” he claimed, comparing both the schemes.
Baleswar MP RK Jena, who was a guest at the newspaper function, observed that the non-BJP and non-Congress vote share would decide the political future of India.
He stated that the non-BJP and non-Congress vote share is around 14 per cent to 15 per and this would be the deciding factor for forming Government.
