‘State Govt does not dare to let CBI probe Naba murder’

Though Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik himself represents Ganjam district, the district could not develop as expected in the 23 years of BJD rule in Odisha.  As a result, thousands of people are going to other States as migrant (dadan) labourers, alleged BJP State president Manmohan Samal during his recent visit to Brahmapur.

Addressing a Press meet here, Samal said that if BJP comes to power in Odisha within five years 90% of land will be irrigated. “Our farmers will not face any problem in selling their crops. They will be guided and assisted to produce five crops in a year,” he claimed.

Similarly, Samal criticised the BJD Government on former Minister Naba Das murder case. Expressing his anguish over the investigation conducted by the State Crime Branch, the BJP State chief said the State Government has no courage to allow CBI to investigate the case. Moreover, he criticized the investigation process as charge sheet was filed after long 120 days the murder took place. Even police couldn't recover the bullet used in the murder, he said. He also alleged that all efforts of the State Government failed in proving Naba Das’s murderer ASI Gopal Das as mentally ill.

Samal also took on the Naveen Government for dillydallying on a full-fledged airport in Brahmapur. Though the Central Government has asked the State Government to expedite the process for providing required land for the airport project, the latter is not showing any interest in the matter, Samal charged.

Among others, district BJP president Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, State BJP vice president Bhrugu Baxipatra, spokesperson Biranchi Narayan Tripathi and Ashok Mishra were present.
