Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurating the academic block of the Mahanadi Institute of Medical Science and Research (MISCR) Medical College and Hospital here on Tuesday, said the State Government has stood in the way of establishment of the hospital.
Pradhan alleged that the State Government has not provided the requisites to the Medical Council of India (MCI) for establishment of the hospital even though the Central Government has repeatedly appraised the State Government about it.
He also said that even if the work of the hospital buildings, built at a cost of Rs 500 crore by the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), has been completed about six months ago, the hospital is yet to be operational.
