The Satyanagar Development and Cultural Society in Bhubaneswar on Saturday demanded shifting of the crematorium in the locality elsewhere in the city.
The society submitted a memorandum in this regard to Bhubaneswar Central MLA Ananta Narayan Jena and demanded immediate action to meet the demand as last rites of hundreds and Covid-19 and non-Covid dead bodies are being performed here creating pollution and affecting the residents’ day-to-day life. Even many residents have developed respiratory problems.
MLA Jena told the delegation that the Government is seriously considering the demand.
