To mark the 100 years of the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi’s arrival to Odisha, civil society forum ‘Gandhi Odisha 100’ consisting of Gandhian groups and intellectuals on Friday demanded a full-fledged ‘Gandhi Bhavan’ in Bhubaneswar. The organisers would submit a memorandum in this context to the Chief Minister shortly. The organisation also decided to appeal to the Governor to call a special session of the State Assembly in this regard. These decisions were announced in a Press conference here. A logo of ‘Gandhi Odisha 100’ was unveiled and a yearlong programme schedule also announced.
“We have planned to reach out to people to spread Gandhian values among them through constructive works, training, meetings, music and street plays. We also aim at making women self-reliant”, said‘Gandhi Odisha 100’ convenor Dr Rina Routray.
