Any injury in brain and spinal cord can be successfully treated by Stem Cell Therapy (SCT). Even congenital problems can also be cured by this.
Hence, stem cell therapy has created a new ray of hope among the accident victims as well as persons with congenital problems, said Dr Nandini Gokulchandran from NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute, Mumbai that has successfully treated thousands of people in a short span of time.
Rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injury and brain injury is one of the most challenging fields so far. But NeuroGen has made it easier with stem cell therapy and giving a new lease of life, he said showing Susanta Kumar Lenka (38), an accident victim of Sambalpur who has been now recovered up to a great extent and can improve further.
“After undergoing five years of treatment in different parts of the country as a road accident victim, I didn’t find improvement. I was totally bedridden. But after stem cell therapy at NeuroGen, I have been functionally independent,” said Lenka. Dr Nandini further said that children and elderly persons suffering from such problems from very birth can also get the benefit of stem cell therapy and lead a normal life.
“Totally defunct children are now pursuing education in different schools,” she showed through slides. She further said that there would be a free camp at Bhubaneswar on November 25 for such persons and requested people of Odisha to avail benefit of it.
She further said that the cost of such treatment is totally affordable and the poor people are given extra benefit.
