Congress Legislature Party Leader Narasingha Mishra on Friday demanded that the House pull up the organisations which didn’t use the National Flag for years after the country achieved Independence on August 15, 1947. “The RSS headquarters didn’t unfurl the National Flag for 52 years after the country got Independence in 1947. It used the National Flag only in 1999. When the National Flag was disrespected for so many years, shall not we reprimand and punish the offenders? Will not this House consider,” wanted to know Mishra during the Zero Hour. Besides, Mishra mentioned about the book, “Bunch of Thoughts”, written by MS Golwalker, and said that the House needs to reprimand it contents.
“Whatever has been written about Mahatma Gandhi in the Bunch of Thoughts can’t be read out in this House. If read, it will be disrespect to Gandhi. Golwalker has written bitter views. This House too reprimand the contents,” demanded Mishra.
He requested members of all parties to read the Bunch of Thoughts and know how the author has written bitterly about Gandhi.
“I hope we should be conscious of past actions of this organisation (RSS),” said Mishra.
In reaction, Leader of Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik questioned the objective of Misrha behind raising the issue of use of the National Flag and making various allegations like ‘one nation, one leader’ and ‘one nation, one religion’.
“Golwalker had written the book in a jail. What is motive of the Congress Legislature Party Leader behind raising all these issues? Theses should not be discussed in the House,” he said.
Naik also wanted to know why Muslim leaders of the Congress party are not uttering Bande Mataram.
