In the past, the BJD used brain and brawn and indulged in booth rigging, snatched ballot boxes and forcibly stamped ballot papers and won by-elections in illegal, unconstitutional and undemocratic manners, alleged the BJP on Tuesday.
“This time also, they are misusing official machinery and police and using SHG women to distribute money. This is not a sign of free and fair elections. The people of Dhamnagar should be careful about this and choose the right candidate without fear, requested BJP State general secretary Lekhashri Samantsinghar.
“As the by-election is scheduled on November 3, today and tomorrow are important. A possibility can’t be ruled out that the BJD would not commit massive irregularities. The ruling party should have faith on the electorate and refrain from distributing liquor, meat and money. The Chief Electoral Officer should take stringent measures to ensure a free and fair poll,” Samantsinghar demanded,
