Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday demanded that the State Government release a Whitepaper on how many posts are lying vacant in the Health and Education Departments and how many aspirants would be recruited.
Referring to the regularisation of contractual employees’ jobs by the State Government, Pradhan said, “This move is nothing new as during the time of requirement it was clearly mentioned in the appointment letters that after a certain duration the nature of employment changes from contractual to regular."
In Odisha, the number of teachers in comparison to students is very less. But eligible and highly-educated youths are not being employed in those posts, Similarly, a large of vacancies are there in the Health Department, but new appointments are not being made. The main thing is why regular appointments are not made from the initial stage like in the Central Government. This would prove beneficial for the Odia youths, said Pradhan.
