The medical college and hospital to come at Phulbani is a joint venture of the Central and State Governments, said former MP Kharabela Swain addressing a Press meet here on Wednesday.
Swain said Kandhmal MP Achyuta Samanta has been celebrating the opening of the medical college at Phulbani declared by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently.
But actual fact is the Central Government would provide 60 per cent fund, i.e., Rs 195 crore and the State Government 40 per cent, Rs 130 crore, out of total amount Rs 325 crore, he added.
Swain thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing the fund and demanded the State Government not to ignore the role of the Central Government. He also demanded that the State Government send the detailed report of the project to the Centre at the soonest to expedite the work.
