The World Duties Day was observed in Bhadrak district by rights activist and Supreme Court lawyer RadhakantaTripathy. “Enjoyment of rights sans performance of duties virtually instigates criminality in the world.The international community has agreed upon the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as sanctioned by the United Nations. Now the time has come to promulgate and propagate Universal Declaration of Human Duties at international level with sanction of United Nations," Tripathy said.The day was celebrated with the inhabitants of Dagamunda Leprosy colony in Randia Gram Panchyat of Bhadrak with a group discussion on relevance of duties in day to day life.Looking at the bad health condition of an inhabitant ‘Kanduri’, Tripathy assured to extend all types of support for her recovery. There was a plantation drive by Tripathy along with the volunteers in Anganwadi and the Primary school premises of the colony which were started after the directions of NHRC. The inhabitants of the colony thanked Tripathy for all his help during the decade. Intellectual and officials of Bhadrak district administration also praised Tripathy for conceiving and executing the idea of observing the World Duties Day. Among others Sunita Mahanta, Balia Munda and Sajani assisted.
