Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday urged the State Government to reopen the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri and other religious institutions during the current month of Kartik amid Covid-19 guidelines.
“Kartik is perceived as a holy month across Odisha. Devotees make beelines to Puri to have darshan of Lord Jagannath. Temples have been reopened in adherence to Covid-19 guidelines across the country. In view of people’s sentiments, the Odisha Government should reopen religious institutions in a regulated manner amid Covid guidelines,” said Pradhan.
Devotees should be allowed to offer prayers in religious institutions in a disciplined manner, he added.
