The BJP on Thursday alleged that the State Government is transferring officers to suit the BJD’s poll plan in violation of the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
A team led by BJP vice-president Sameer Mohanty lodged a complaint before the Chief Electoral Officer and requested him to take action soon.
The team said the Government has given BDOs the charge of Tehsildars in their own blocks and Sub-Collectors the additional charge of Tehsildars.
“These appointments have been made for benefit of the BJD. Hence, appointment of these officers should be cancelled soon,” the BJP urged the CEO.
Naming Rangeilunda BDO Srikumar Nagabhushan, the team alleged that Nagabhushan has always been working as a leader of the BJD. He should be shifted to another place, demanded the team.
Among others, BJP youth president Tankadhar Tripathy, election cell member Rabishankar Patnaik, Surya Narayan Das and Jayant Jena were present.
