As a part of its Jana Sampark Yatra, the BJD on Wednesday organised a rally in Basta block headed by State working president women wing Subasini Jena.
Hundreds of enthusiastic party workers and supporters from 17 panchayats under Basta block, after participating in the foot march holding party banners and placards, reached the meeting venue amid sloganeering.
Addressing the gathering, Jena spoke about various developmental and welfare schemes of the State Government. She categorically mentioned about the massive initiatives of the State Government led by CM Naveen Patnaik to empower women especially through Mission Shakti.
She urged her party workers to propagate the various welfare and developmental schemes of the BJD Government among the common people so that they can reap the benefits.
The meeting was presided over by Block president Anil Mohanty. Speaking on the occasion, district BJD president and former MP RK Jena said Odisha is achieving a new high everyday by promoting all-round development.
The State Government under CM Patnaik has gained prominence not only in the country but also globally. Be it handling natural calamities, providing health security to the economically backward, bringing investments to the State, enhancing agriculture efficiency or promoting sports and games, Odisha is proving number one in the country, Jena told.
Leaders Barada Prasanna Das, Anjali Das, Sujatarani Dandpat and Simon Dasmohapatra among others were present.
