The real beneficiaries are not being enlisted for the various welfare schemes of the Central Government. The Odisha Government is hijacking the Central schemes and hoodwinking the people of the State, said former Union Minister and BJP State in-charge Daggubati Purandeswari at a Press meet here on Saturday.
She said the number of migrant workers from the State is increasing by the day. Even in Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s constituency, many people are migrating to other States in search of livelihoods as there are no opportunities for them in their native areas.
She alleged that during the coronavirus pandemic, the State Government was not able to spend the Central grants properly. This would be brought to the notice of people and if required the BJP would take to the streets. She also raised questions on the law and order situation in the State.
Later, she inaugurated the party’s new office at Station Road. District BJP president Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, State BJP general secretary, vice-president Bhrigu Buxipatra, Pinki Pradhan, Manas Mohanty were present.
