‘No tender’ helps BJD get public money: Pradhan

Published on:

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday reiterated that the State Government is promoting  PC (percentage) taking practice by adopting no tender policy in awarding public works upto Rs 5 lakh and looting public money.

“The new guideline to award Government projects up to Rs 5 lakh without tender is the new strategy of the BJD to send money to its party workers,” Pradhan alleged.

Gracing BJP youth convenors’ conference here, Pradhan said that the BJP would hold a 10-day long demonstration protesting the new guideline of the State government and would not let taxpayers’ money get embezzled.

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State president Tankdhar Tripathy said activists would stage Hartal in front of all the Executive Engineer and SDO offices across the State between December 10 and 20 and a ‘Rojgar Paramarsh Padyatra’ would be held on the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25.

However, BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra refuted the allegations of the Union Minister stating that the Odisha Government has only followed the guidelines of the Centre.

“The argument of Dharmendra Pradhan is unfortunate. Odisha Government has just executed the guidelines of the Centre and the recommendation of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Odisha Assembly; BJP MLAs are also part of the PAC,” said Patra.
