The counting of votes for the elections held to the AssamVidhan Sabha is yet to take place. But the Congress candidates arebeing poached by the BJP. Fearing such activities by the BJP, theCongress leadership has shifted its MLA candidates to 5-star hotels inCongress-ruled State of Rajasthan.
This speaks to what low level theBJP can stoop to form its Government in Assam, said the Freethought Party of India (FPI).The FPI is deeply worried about the political ambition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His party, the BJP, has become a ‘compulsive’ poacher or buyer of Opposition MLAs so as to break the Opposition Governments. It has done so in the States of Karnataka and Madhya
Pradesh and is all set to do so in Assam, the FPI stated in a release. By such insidious or unethical process, the BJP wants to make elections to the Assam Vidhan Sabha a farce, it added.
The buying of Congress MLAs by the BJP leadership is an assault on Indian democracy. This unethical practice was rampant in Karnataka.
This was ‘condoned’ by the Supreme Court under the plea that MLAs have their fundamental right to change their political opinion. This is a vicious dirty argument which kills political morality and negates the mandate that the Congress received from the electorate, said FPI general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire. “All sorts of pleas are being advanced in defence of PM Modi’s political dream. He is not happy by being Prime Minister of India.
By the name of Double of Engine Sarkar, PM Modi wants to be the CM of every State and Union Territory of India. Any leader of the BJP who becomes a CM of the State is in reality a proxy man of the PM at the State level. He is to act as per the direction of the Prime Minister,” Voltaire added.
