The Arya Samaj, Odisha led by president president Aryakumar Jnanendra cerebrated the 87th death anniversary of its founder Maharshi Dayananda Saraswati through zoom video on Diwali on Saturday.
Dibyajeevan Sangha saint Swami Jagannathananda Saraswati Maharaja inaugurating the programme said Maharshi Dayananda had foretold his disciples about his death.
He had worked to make Vedic knowledge reach common people uninterruptedly.
Noted Vedic expert Pandit Birendra Kumar Panda said Maharshi Dayananda had established Arya Samaj for development of common man. He said every Vedic verse is meant for the welfare of humans. Basic Science College Director Prof Bikash Panda said Maharshi Dayananda have made scientific experiments through religion.
He said the Arya Samaj, established 145 years back, is not only a spiritual organisation but also an institution against social stigmas.
A Vedic Yanja had been performed under the guidance of Binod Bihari Das.At the outset, Yuva Arya Samaj, Odisha president Prabira Arya had delivered the welcome address. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Deepak Arya.
