Atrocities against women would decline if the women are given rights over land, said a team of Ekta Parishad Mahila Manch, which reached Bhubaneswar from Kerala on Friday.
In a function organised by the Mahila Adhikar Abhiyan (MAA) and Ekta Mahila Manch, Odisha, the team members, who include Shradha Kashyap, Kasturi Patel, Shobha Tiwari, Manshi Pagare and Debendra Singh, spoke about the aim and objective of a campaign they are going to start from Gwalior to New Delhi on October 2.
While the Government is forcibly acquiring land for the industrialists, it is not proactively doing it for the landless people. This is ironical, they opined.
The team members were felicitated on the occasion. Among others, MAA advisor Rina Routray, Pramila Majhi and Prabhasini Rout were present.
