Swiggy delivery boy Patitapabana Prusty, who had stage-managed his abduction to elope with a girl, was brought back to Bhubaneswar from Madhya Pradesh by the Commissionerate police on Thursday.
A team of the Dhauli police brought the duo back from Katia Madhya Pradesh. Both are now being interrogated at the Dhauli police station to ascertain the motive behind Prusty’s kidnapping drama. Later, he would be arrested and forwarded to court. Earlier on Tuesday, the Commissionerate police had said that Prusty had cooked up the kidnapping drama to elope with the girl with whom he was allegedly in a relationship.
Prusty along with the girl were tracked down at Katia railway station in Madhya Pradesh where Railway Protection Force (RPF) detained them on basis of information of Commissionerate police.
Notably, Prusty’s wife and family members had filed an FIR with police on September 12 alleging his kidnapping by some miscreants from near Daya river road in the Lingipur area ,on the outskirts of the city. Prusty had sent a d voice message to his wife at around 9 pm on September 11 about his kidnapping by some drunk youths. He lives with his wife and family at Nuagaon Bijayvihar area in a rented accommodation. Following complaint, police launched a search operation and recovered his slippers, bag and knife from the roadside near the spot informed by Prusty in the voice message.
