BJD leader and former Balangir MP Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo has written to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to declare the Khurdha-Balangir railway line as a national project for its early completion.
Vaishnaw is scheduled to visit Balangir on Sunday as part of the Union BJP Ministers’ Jan Ashirwad Yatra.Singh Deo in his letter said the progress of the 289-km Khurdha Bolangir railway line from Bichhupali station to Sonepur is very slow and emphasis should be given for completion of this portion by December 2022.
Moreover, Singh Deo said, a railway wagon factory should be established at Kantabanji in Balangir district where 700 acres of land donated by late Chief Minister RN Singh Deo to the Railways is lying unused.
Besides, Kalikesh Singh Deo also made 15 other suggestions including declaring the Bolangir railway station as a PM model station and starting of direct train to New Delhi from Sambalpur via Balangir,Titiligarh, etc.
