The Manav Adhikar Surakshya Manch organised a seminar titled “How much safe is Indians’ freedom in the hands of capitalists and fascists” here on Friday on the occasion of death anniversary of the youngest martyr Baji Rout.
Green Nobel Award winner eminent environmentalist Prafulla Samantra, former Ganjam Bar Association president Bhagwan Sahu and Mohansingari attended as guests at the seminar presided over by manch convenor Abani Kumar Gaya.
They alleged that the Central Government is neglecting the public sector companies like LIC, Coal India, BSNL, MTNL, Air India and Jet Airway and, instead, promoting the private companies. They severely criticized the Government for waiving of loan of Rs 5.55 lakh crore taken by various capitalists and for planning to hand over 50 railway stations and 150 trains to private firms.
“An unannounced Emergency like situation has now emerged in the country. The current Union Government’s fascist attitude has come to the core. The freedom availed by people has weakened instead of getting stronger. In view of these, a second freedom struggle is felt inevitable,” viewed the speakers.
Among others, Mohammad Suku, Subash Chandra Sahu, Rabindra Nayak, Nihar Ranjan Mishra, Prafulla Pashupalak, Gagan Chandra Mallick, A Ratna Malrao, Saiphun Nisha, Banshidhar Bhuyan, Maguni Nahak, Maheswar Badatya, Purna Chandra Maharana, Kailash Chandra Panigrahi, S Shambasiba Rao and Jagannath Patnaik were present.
