A delegation of the BJP MPs from Odisha led by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday called on Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi and urged him to advise the State Government for implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) in the State.
Submitting a letter, the MPs requested Mandaviya to intervene in the matter inr the greater interest of 4.5 crore Odias and the 1 crore Non-Resident Odias (NROs) outside the State.
They alleged that the State’s healthcare sector is in a critical condition and the non-implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a matter of great concern.
More than 20 States have implemented the Ayushman Yojana along with their own schemes. But due to political reasons, the Odisha Government is not showing any interest in implementing it, the MPs stated.
The delegation included Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bishweswar Tudu.
