PCC president Niranjan Patnaik on Saturday said the State Government should organise the Rath Yatra in Puri amid State-wide shutdown like it successfully conducted the Snan Yatra amid absence of devotees.
“I understand the State Government has backtracked from holding the Rath Yatra in fear of the coronavirus. Any Government would have done it apprehending spread of the virus among lakhs of devotees. If the Government plans to organise Rath Yatra by shutting down the entire State, debates being made in the media could be avoided,” he observed in a statement.
Stating that the all should respect the Supreme Court’s direction, Patnaik, however, said a new history would be written by halting of the Rath Yatra. He opined that the discussions being made in TV channels over the matter is not at all decent.
Patnaik hoped that everything good would happen by the wishes of Lord Jagannath.
