Even as the Naveen Patnaik Government has been announcing schemes one after another in the name of development, but it has failed to curb the massive corruption in them, alleged PCC president Niranjan Patnaik.
The Government officials are not helping people without PC and most of the beneficiaries are the BJD cadres, slammed Patnaik.
In a Press release, the PCC chief said recently in a shocking incident, poverty-stricken Laxmidhar Behera committed suicide as he was denied Indira Awas for failure to bribe the BDO. The video recorded by the deceased before his death has gone viral. He has blamed the State Government and the Government machinery for driving him to take the extreme step, told Patnaik.
Launching a blistering attack, Patnaik said that while the State Government was utilizing the calamity and emergency funds for KALIA scheme, it failed to provide a shelter to the needy hapless man.
He charged that party men and elected peoples’ representatives of BJD are demanding bribe and PC for Indira Awas and toilets.
