The BJP on Friday demanded removal of IPS officer Arun Bothra from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is investigating the murder of minor girl Pari of Nayagarh district.
The demand followed the allegation of a youth, Saroj Sethi, of Pari’s village that Bothra offered to pay him Rs 5 lakh if he owned up the crime. BJP general secretary Lekhasri Samantsinghar told a Press conference here that if the allegation made by Saroj against Bothra is true, “it is very serious”.
“As per Saroj, he is being made a scapegoat and framed in the abduction and murder of the girl and organ smuggling racket.
If those are true, Bothra should be immediately removed as the SIT chief,” demanded Samantsinghar.
The Government is using the investigation team through Bothra to destroy evidences so that Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo and his aide Babuli Nayak, who is the main accused in the Pari murder case, can go scot-free, she alleged.
