The Odisha Soochana Adhikar Abhijan (OSAA) on Saturday slammed the State Government for not giving receipts and expenditures data relating the Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup, played at the Kalinga Stadium here in November-December 2018, to RTI applicants.

The OSAA threatened to hold a protest in front of the Sports and Youth Services Department on January 17 if the Government doesn’t make public all data relating to the Hockey World Cup soon.

Addressing a Press meet here, OSAA convenor Pradip Pradhan said, “Three RTI activists had, on different dates in the first week of December, applied to the Sports and Youth Services Department  seeking to know about funds received from the Hockey India, corporate houses and others, expenditures incurred and communiqués made between different agencies.

However, the concerned PIO has intimated to the applicants that information relating to funds can’t be submitted as the accounting work was not yet completed.”

Pradhan alleged that the department is not furnishing information as Hockey World Cup funds have been misappropriated.

Among others, lawyer Sudhir Mohanty, social activist Ashok Nanda, Pratap Kumar Sahu, Sanjukta Panigrahji, Ranjulata Mohapatra, Pratap Mohanty and Sanjay Sahoo were present.
