The Paschim Odisha Adivasi Kalyan Mahasangha on Monday demanded that BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik give MLA tickets to its secretary general Niranjan Bisu for the Patnagarh Assembly constituency and another ticket to VP Bhanupratap Singh Majhi for Nuapada constituency.
Mahasagha president Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha mentioned that Bisu has a strong organisation with the Adivasi, Dalit and labour communities in Patnagarh, Balpada and Khaprakhol blocks under the Patnagarh constituency. More than two lakh SCs and STs of the area have declared to support Bisu, he added. Similarly, Majhi, nephew of former Minister late Ghasiram Majhi and Adivasi Kalyan Sangha district president, has a strong organisation and many communities have declared to support Majhi, added Bariha.
The Mahasangha said that giving tickets to Bisu and Majhi would help the party to win the elections in the Patnagarh and Nuapada constituencies.
