Kill me, if you can. I am not interested to live further as everyone hates me," said a patient undergoing treatment in the Covid Hospital in Sambalpur to his attending doctor. He also requested the doctor to give him proper medicine and food.
A video on this has gone viral in the social media, and pointing out the poor standards of treatment and food.
“I have requested the doctors in charge of treatment to give me an injection so that I will die soon,” the patient says in the video. The patient has been in the hospital for four days. He seems under severe mental trauma, may be due to the dreaded disease.
When contacted, Sambalpur district Collector Subham Saxena said some Covid patients are undergoing psychological disorders too. "Hence, it is obvious for them to express their reactions in many ways.”
“Still, doctors and other staffs have been asked to treat patients with a human touch,” said Saxena, adding, “We are further arranging to send psychologists to meet such patients for proper counselling so that they can come out of trauma.”
