BJP national president Amit Shah hitting the election campaign trail in the State on Monday lashed out at the BJD and the Congress.
Addressing a BJP Vijay Sankalp Samabesh at Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district, Shah said the BJD Government has done nothing except prompting corruption in the last 19 years of its rule. The Government is so much dipped in corruption that it did not even spare the Ratna Bhandar of Lord Jagannath,” he alleged, adding that a “double engine” Government of the BJP at the Centre and Odisha is needed for real development of the State.
Besides, Shah took a swipe at the BJD supremo saying that it’s unfortunate for the people of Odisha that Naveen Patnaik can’t speak Odia even after 19 years of his rule.
“On this Utkala Divas, I appeal to all the Odia people to elect a Chief Minister who can speak to you and understand your problems in your language,” he said.
He further accused the BJD Government of showing step-motherly attitude towards western and central Odisha.
Shah called upon the Odisha people to decide on two things: First, dethrone the BJD Government and secondly, give more votes to the BJP so that Narendra Modi forms Government at the Centre for a second time.
He urged the people to give the BJP a chance to form a Government in the State and assured that the party would make Odisha such a State where youths would no more have to migrate to Gujarat in search of jobs.
“You gave Congress chance to rule Odisha for long and then the last 19 years to the BJD. I urge you not to repeat the mistake. Give the BJP a chance. If voted to power, the BJP will make Odisha the number one State in five years, Take pledge to remove the Naveen Patnaik Government from Odisha,” said Shah.
Shah also launched BJP election campaign in Umarkote in Nabarangpur district on the day reiterating his appeal to people to throw out the BJD Government.
Among others, Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP Nabarangpur MP candidate Balabhadra Majhi were present.
