An anti- incumbency wave in Odisha is gathering momentum and the coming elections will witness a change of the BJD Government, said KJD president Baidyanath Mishra at a Press conference held here recently.
Mishra who arrived here with the Kosal Mukti Rath kept his entourage busy distributing leaflets of his party to sensitise people on the Kosal State movement. Before leaving for Puri for Jagannath darshan, he told that teachers and farmers are determined to change the BJD Government this time as the education and the agrarian sector have suffered the most. The health sector performance is no better, he added.
“The present revenue structure of the Government needs to be revisited as it doesn’t allow our employment to grow. Despite availability of huge quantity of minerals like coal, iron and bauxite, the State has failed to develop manufacturing hubs to make value added products for sustainable development of the economy. The MSME sector is limping and the tourism sector lacks a pan Odisha approach,” said Mishra.
The KJD as a regional outfit has been registered with the Election Commission of India last year. The party will make its debut in the next elections. Though the party has a regional bias for a new Statehood demand because of the acute regional imbalance in the State, it advocates for an inclusive growth, he told.
