‘Extend HSRP date to March 2023’

Published on:

Samajwadi Party State president Rabi Behera in a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday requested him to extend the date of affixing of High Security Number Plates (HSRPs) to March 2023.

Behera mentioned that the date for affixing HSRP on vehicles with the number ending with the digits 1, 2, 3, 4 is ending on September 30. Many vehicle owners are not getting slots to book the HSRP.

The State Government has announced that those who do not fix HSRP by September 30 have to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 from

October 1. This is giving sleepless nights to the vehicle owners.  They are standing in serpentine queues to get the slot which is very difficult to get.

As the mass festivals like Dussehra and Diwali are round the corner, the people are in the lurch on how to pay the fines. So, in greater interest of the masses the date should be extended, stated Behera.
