Employees of the State Government are feeling unsafe and humiliated, said Indian Citizens’ Party (ICP) president Ramesh Rout through a Press release on Wednesday.
Rout said that the Government is not taking any step against Patnagarh MLA Saroj Meher after he had asked a Junior Engineer (JE) to do sit-ups in public as punishment for alleged poor quality of road work in Belpada block in the district. This has created an impression that the BJD Government is humiliating the Government employees.
He said that Executive Engineer Loknath Mishra had slapped the JE being compelled to do so; therefore, he is innocent. Rout demanded that the State Government enact a law for the security and prestige of the Government employees.
The ICP, while condemning the Patnagarh incident, demanded that the Chief Minister direct police to arrest the MLA immediately.
