Members of the Odisha Dalit Adhikar Manch, Nimapara under leadership of Manch block committee president Bijay Das on Thursday held a demonstration in front of the Nimapara Tehsildar office demanding distribution of homestead and farm lands among the landless Dalit people and justice to sharecroppers.
Manch State president Manas Jena, State coordinator Prasant Mallick, State committee members Rajesh Jena and Rajeev Nayak and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) State convenor Nishikant Mahapatra joined the meeting and spoke on the problems of the Dalit landless people.
Hundreds of landless Dalit villagers of Charanpada, Sagada, Badamachapur, Kalapanchana and Tulasipur under the Nimapara tehsil along with the members submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister and the Puri Collector to the Tehsildar pressing for fulfilment of their demands as soon as possible.

A rally was also taken out from Bada Bazaar to the tehdil office in which along with other members Sunita Bhoi, Ramchandra Nayak, Chandi Samal, Kalandi Bhoi, Surendra Bhoi, Subhas Bhoi, Amulya Bhoi and Ranjan Bhoi took part and also threatened that if demands are not fulfilled at the earliest, they would intensify their stir.
