‘Despite huge fertiliser stock, State blames Centre’

Published on:

The BJP on Saturday alleged that despite a huge stock, the BJD Government has created an artificial scarcity of urea and the Chief Minister has written a letter to Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister over inadequate supply of fertilisers to the State.

In a Press conference, BJP State Krushak Morcha president Pradeep Purohit said that during the last three years, the Modi Government has provided more fertlilisers than the State’s actual share. Quoting the Union Chemical and Fertilisers Ministry’s data, Purohit stated that up to July 30, the Central Government had supplied 2.20 lakh MT of urea sand after sale, the remaining stock is 1.28 lakh MT. Besides, the Centre has already provided the required 0.65 lakh MT of DAP and after sale, the State has a stock of 0.45 lakh MT. Also, the State has a stock of 0.46 lakh MT of MOP.

Without using the stocked fertilisers, the State Government is putting blame on the Centre and BJD MPs are accusing the Centre on the basis of the monthly supply of fertlisers from the Centre, Purohit stated.
