Ajay Kumar Behera, elder brother of slain Sanjay Behera alias Para, said on Wednesday in a Press conference that the police have not yet arrested the miscreants, including a local Councillor, who were involved the murder.

Behera said that all the persons involved in the firing on his younger brother near the Gundicha Temple are now roaming freely in the city even as 29 days have passed since December 25.

Ajay alleged a deal of Rs 50 lakh with the police has been made to let off the BJD Councillor in the murder case since he is instrumental in the upcoming elections. He further alleged that his family is being repeatedly threatened of serious consequence by the criminals, who are mounting pressure on them to receive money and withdraw the case.

Complaining of link of politicians in the murder, Ajay demanded a CBI probe to bring the truth to light. Ajay who is a charted accountant explained how Para was of very daring nature and was vocal against the any misdeeds and wrongdoings of Councillor Pika Sahu.

Para was also against all sorts of assaults on the local people and shopkeepers from the Councillor and supporters who have serious criminal records, told Ajay.

He further alleged that the police have forced his mother to sign on the FIR which is not original complaint lodged by her with the Kumbarapada police station. Bringing allegations of big conspiracy behind the murder, Ajay raised serious questions on the role of police in rising crimes in the city.

Notably on December 25, Para was shot dead near Nakachana dwar of Gundicha Temple at about 8am. Following broad light killing near a busy place, people are raising questions on the efficacy Puri police.
