Odisha Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Leader Narasingha Mishra on Thursday made it clear that his party is not going to support Draupada Murmu as the NDA’s Presidential candidate because she represents the BJP ideology.
“The Congress has already finalised the candidature and Yeswant Sinha is the candidate of the united Opposition, of which the Congress is part. So, question doesn’t arise to support a candidate who believes in the BJP ideology,” he said.
Mishra said that though he knows Murmu well as a legislator and a good human being, she believes in an ideology that killed Mahatma Gandhi and represents the BJP and Sangh Parival ideals. How can he or his party support the BJP candidate, the announcement of which came after the united Opposition finalised Sinha’s candidature, he questioned.
