Health Minister Naba Kishore Das has placed six demands relating to Covid-19 fight before Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan during a discussion between them held through videoconferencing on Wednesday.
Stating that a provision of pre-screening of workers has been inserted in the standard operating procedure (SOP) by the Centre, Das suggested for RT PCR test of those coming to Odisha at departure points only.
Besides, he urged to provide testing kits to Odisha for doing rapid tests of the workers coming to Odisha from other States. He also requested to relax ICMR Act and give testing permission to the Director, AIIMS Bhubaneswar. He urged that all private hospitals be permitted by the ICMR to do corona tests on a priority basis.
Further, he demanded that all coaches of special trains be properly sanitised and availed with all precautions for safe return of the migrant workers.
