Demanding speedy procurement of paddy and immediate cancellation of the faulty token system which has become a major hindrance for farmers to sell paddy in mandis, the BJP staged two-hour road blockades from 10 am to 12 pm in entire western Odisha on Wednesday.
“The token system is the main problem now for the farmers to sell their produce. Paddy bags are still in market yards to be sold,” a party leader said.Hundreds of BJP leaders, including Rengali MLA Nauri Naik, Zilla Parishad President Radheshyam Barik, ex-MLA Rabi Naik, party western zone spokesperson Manas Baxi, sat on road at Maneswar on outskirt of town obstructing movements of vehicles.
