The Utkal Sammilani has demanded to cancel the scheduled +2 examination on April 28 as the day marks the 174th birth anniversary of Utkalgaurav Madhusudan Das.
In a Press statement, Sammilani president Basanta Kumar Tripathy and general secretary Radhanath Praharaj said students and teachers of schools and colleges join the celebration of Madhubabu’s birth anniversary on this day across the State. As Madhubabu immensely contributed for formation of a special Odisha State and was one of the founders of Utkal Sammilani, it is time to remind the future generations regarding the legendry personality.
The statement said the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) could have opted another day for the examination instead of Madhubabu’s birth anniversary.
“While the entire State is demanding to confer Bharat Ratna on Madhubabu, why should we hold the examination on his birthday,” it questioned.
