BJP national president Dr Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday claimed that his party would grab 50% of votes and form the next Government in Odisha.

He was addressing the BJP State executive meeting held here through a virtual mode.

“After a long political battle, the BJP had emerged as the main opposition party in Odisha. Nearly, 1 crore voters voted for the party in the 2019 Parliamentary elections. The party’s share of assembly votes has increased from 21% in 2014 to 38% in 2019 and share of Parliamentary election votes from 18% to 32%. Now, we must resolve to garner 50% of votes in the coming election and form the Government in the state,” said Nadda.

He urged party workers to be “Vocal for local” as wanted by Prime Minister Modi.

He alleged that the Odisha Government is naming various projects being done under the Central schemes as its own. He alleged that the State Government has deprived poor people of Ayushman Bharat Yojana benefits.

National vice-president Baijayant Panda, joint general secretaries Soudan Singh and Arun Singh, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi, national spokesperson Sambit Patra joined the meeting from Bhubaneswar while State president Samir Mohanty and Leader of Opposition Pradipta Naik were present here.
