The Congress on Thursday accused the State Government of for hoodwinking people announcing schemes after schemes as both panchayat and municipal elections are approaching.

The Government is creating a false perception of development despite its continuous failures on all fronts, the party alleged.Addressing a Press conference, party leaders Satya Prakash Nayak, Manoranjan Dash, Prasanta Satpathy and Deeepak Mohapatra said that even after 21 long years of its rule, the Naveen Patnaik Government has failed to construct a single bus-stand. When the Congress Government left power in year 2000, there were 38 bus-stands with the State Road Transport Corporation, out of which the conditions of five, including the one at the CM’s own Ganjam district headquarters at Chatrapur, are precarious, the leaders said.

They questioned about status of  15 bus-stands now proposed by Housing and Urban Development Department. They also pointed out that bus services have not resumed in 10 tribal districts.
