‘BJD, BJP have secret pact against interest of State’

Pradesh Congress Committee president Niranjan Patnaik on Monday alleged that the BJD and the BJP have a secret pact against the interests of the State.

“The BJD is supporting the Union Government in passing bills and the BJP is supporting the BJD in giving some posts to its MPs. They have a secret link against the interest of the State and the country,” Patnaik told a Press conference here.

Giving examples, Patnaik said three BJD Rajya Sabha members withdrew from a discussion on an economic bill recently as they had to talk against the Government.  He said BJD Member Amar Patnaik with support of only seven RS members defeated BJP member Ashwini Baishnaw, who had support of 81 RS MPs, in an election to a post of a member of Board of Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) recently.

Patnaik too alleged that the BJD is giving its support to the BJP-led NDA Government for ‘self-protection’.
