The BJP would contest the general elections in the State in 2024 on the issues of the BJD Government’s “incompetence, inertness and corruption”, said Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan here on Saturday.

The BJP would particularly adopt its “Dhamnagar by-poll victory model” and would be guided by the experience it learned from the defeat in the Padampur by-poll in the general elections, he said.

Pradhan was speaking to the media just before attending a meeting of the BJP’s district presidents and State office-bearers at the State party headquarters.

Later, briefing about the meeting, BJP State general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said the results of the Dhamnagar and Padampur by-elections were discussed. The State Government has failed to provide jobs to the youth. The BJP has formed a strategy to raise this.

He said the party has grown strong at the grassroots and its connect with the people has increased. It has been decided to hold long-term agitations against the State Government’s anti-people policies till they are not reversed.

The party functionaries were urged to make the G-20 meeting to be held in Odisha a success.

In the meeting presided over by BJP State president Samir Mohanty, BJP region in-charge Sunil Bansal, Odisha in-charge D Purundeswari, additional in-charge Bijay Palsingh Tomar and Leader of Opposition Jayanaryan Mishra were present.
