Bande Utkal Janani’, the iconic song written by the Kantakabi Laxmikanta Mohapatra, is to be taught to Classes-IX and X students.In a notification on Wednesday, the Board of Secondary Education said the State Government has taken the decision to include the song in the First Language Odia in the curriculum for Classes-IX and X.
The Utkal Sammilani welcomed the decision of the Government. Sammilani Mnacheswar branch president Dillip Dashsharma thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for the step. The song written in 1912 was accorded the State Anthem status on June 7, 2020.
