‘Baijayant violated code using IMFA chopper’

Published on:

The BJD on Wednesday alleged before Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar that BJP Kendrapada MP candidate Baijayant Panda violated election code of conduct by using non-commercial helicopters for his election campaigning.

“Panda has been using helicopters owned by the LMFA company for his election campaigning. These helicopters do not have commercial charter which is mandated as per the Election Commission guidelines. In the absence of the commercial charter, both the IMFA company as well as Panda would be guilty of having violated Election Commission guidelines. We request you to kindly look into the matter urgently and take strong action in this regard,” a BJD team urged the CEO.

Spokespersons Sulata Deo, Lenin Mohanty and Sasmit Patra met the CEO and handed over a complaint to him.
