The Red Cross State Branch Protection Committee, Odisha on Tuesday urged the Bhadrak district Collector to appoint Mausumi Mohanty as the vice-president of the District Red Cross Committee.
In a letter the committee has mentioned that Mohanty by virtue of his honesty donated the total left out amount of Rs 40 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (Rs 30 lakh) and Red Cross fund (Rs 10 lakh). She had got this amount from public as donations for the treatment of her husband who was struggling with life being affected by Covid-19 during peak of second wave last year.
“Only a committed and honest person can do this as she sets an example for all of us,” said committee convenor Dillip Dashsharma.
Dashsharma has also intimated to the Governor about her work.
