School and Mass Education Mnister Samir Ranjan Dash on Wednesday informed the State Assembly that as many as 217 fake teachers were found on job in various schools till date. In response to a question of BJD MLA Souvic Biswal, the Minister said that as many as 15 fake teachers have been caught in primary education level and 77 in secondary education level. Besides, 125 Sikhya Sahayaks/Junior Teachers (contractual)/Junior Teachrs were found to have submitted fake certificates.
The Minister said a probe has already been ordered to verify educational and caste certificates of all those accused teachers following which appropriate action would be taken against them.
