Notorious Bhopal criminal Zubair Maulana and his accomplices have unleashed terror across the city, targeting two locations linked to Mangalwara's history-sheeter Saad Khan. The group fired shots and vandalized vehicles, instilling fear in local residents. According to Bhopal police records, Zubair has been on the run for the past six months, continuing his criminal activities while evading capture. Authorities from Mangalwara and Tila Jamalpura police stations have filed cases, and law enforcement officials claim Zubair's arrest is imminent.
ACP Rakesh Baghel confirmed that Saad Khan, a notorious criminal from Mangalwara, was recently released from jail. Zubair and Saad have a longstanding feud, which escalated on Monday night through heated social media exchanges, including threatening messages and audio recordings. The situation quickly turned violent, culminating in a series of brazen attacks early on Tuesday morning.
At around 5 a.m., Zubair and his henchmen, riding three mopeds with their faces covered, opened fire outside Saad’s ancestral home in the cantonment area, where his mother and relatives reside. The group vandalized over six parked vehicles, causing significant damage, before fleeing the scene. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing youths on mopeds, brandishing pistols and shouting abuses as they sped away.
By 6 a.m., the gang made their way to Indra Nagar in Teela Jamalpura, where they targeted the home of Saad’s brother-in-law, Faisal. The attackers fired shots outside the residence, spreading panic in the neighborhood. Locals who heard the gunfire described seeing individuals on mopeds, their faces obscured, fleeing the scene while brandishing firearms and hurling insults.
Salim, a resident at Faisal's house, recounted the terrifying moment when he woke to the sound of three gunshots around 6 a.m. He saw the assailants speeding away on mopeds but could not identify them due to their faces being concealed. Authorities recovered cartridge shells from both crime scenes and have registered separate cases in connection with the attacks.
A massive manhunt has been launched by Bhopal police to capture Zubair and his accomplices. Police are coordinating efforts between various police stations and utilizing available intelligence to locate the suspects. The ongoing investigation has raised concerns about the growing lawlessness in the region, with authorities working to ensure the safety of local residents and prevent further escalation of violence.
